Sussex born artist, and former PECS user, James Owen Thomas currently has two art exhibitions running. James says “My work expresses my concern about the damaging environmental effects of single use products. My art isn’t what it’s made from, but what it has become.” The collection called From Waste to Wall is made entirely of recycled materials. As a student at Bradford School of Art James became interested in surrealist art. His work is an expression of concern about the damaging environmental effects of single use products. James creates incredible colourful collages, made entirely from recycled materials.
You can buy tickets to visit the exhibitions which are running in Sussex and Yorkshire.

As a PECS user from young age, James remembers how empowering and enabling the communication system was for him. We are of course utterly delighted that PECS perhaps played some part in helping him arrive to where he is at today. Look out for an interview with James in our blog – out soon!
