Lizzie Batten is the the longest-serving member of staff at Amaze, a Brighton charity for young people with disabilities. Lizzie, has been recognised by the Queen in the Birthday Honours List and was made an MBE for her dedicated charity work. Primarily, Lizzie manages the volunteer team at Amaze. Such volunteers advise parents on how to make claims for disability living allowance from the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP).
“There really shouldn’t be a need for me to do the work I do. My job wouldn’t exist if the DWP was sticking to the law – but it isn’t”. You can read up more about what Lizzie has to say here.
