  • To attend at the parent rate you will be the parent of a child/adolescent who has communication difficulties, who plans to use PECS in a home setting only, and not in a professional capacity.
  • Students (a person in full time education and not working) may attend any workshop and will receive a 10% discount from the full professional rate, but we must see proof of a valid student card.
  • The professional rate is applicable to any person(s) using this training in a professional capacity. It is also applicable to Foster Carers & Paid Carers.
  • Our workshop fees include materials where applicable. Onsite workshop fees also include a light lunch and refreshments.
  • A contract/booking becomes binding when we receive a workshop delegate booking through our website booking page, we do not take bookings for workshops over the telephone. By making a booking you agree to our terms & conditions.

When making a booking for attendance at a PECS training workshop, if the delegate books within 14 days of the workshop start date, this 14 day period would usually be considered the cancellation or ‘cooling off’ period, whereby no cancellation fees will apply. By booking inside of this period you agree to the training workshop starting before the end of the usual cancellation period and our standard cancellation terms will apply (see below).

Workshop confirmation details – Workshop confirmation details and online joining instructions will be emailed to you to the email address provided when you make your booking. If you are attending an online workshop the materials will be sent out to you. If you are attending a workshop in person you will pick up your materials at the venue.

Online workshops – Attendance at an online workshop requires the delegate to have a device with a front facing camera, a microphone and device sound, access to Zoom (free to download as an app) and a strong internet connection (broadband recommended). The camera must be on at all times (except during breaks) and your microphone must be off to stop background noise distracting from the delivery of the workshop. It is advantageous, but not compulsory, that your device is able to access VIMEO to watch the workshop demonstration videos. Please check your firewall prior to the workshop commencing. Noncompliance of the above may result in Pyramid withholding your certificate.

II. Payments

We accept VISA and MasterCard credit and debit cards. We also accept cheques made payable to: “Pyramid Educational Consultants UK Ltd” with your postcode and account number (if known) on the back. Post to:

III. Workshop Cancellations & Transfers

If you wish to cancel your delegate place on a workshop you must inform Pyramid Educational Consultants in writing, this can be either by email or post. We cannot accept cancellations by phone. We would recommend that if you send in your cancellation notice by post that you obtain a Certificate of Postage. 

Training materials for online workshops will be posted out to delegates (where applicable) 7 days in advance of the workshop date(s). If a delegate wishes to cancel their place on a workshop they will have to return the training materials to us in an unused state, at their expense, in order to receive the full refund.

Non-attendance – If you do not attend a workshop, and you have not previously informed us, the full course fee remains payable.

Transfers – A delegate may transfer their booking a maximum of two times. They must request a transfer before the date of their current workshop, and must inform Pyramid Educational Consultants of their chosen new date within two weeks of requesting said transfer. If a delegate fails to request a new date within two weeks then they will loose their place, no monies will be refunded. The new date must be within six months of the original workshop date. If the delegate fails to attend the workshop of the second transfer they loose their place, no monies will be refunded.

IV. Adverse Weather

If you are unable to attend a workshop due to adverse weather conditions, please inform our office as soon as possible by calling +44 (0)1273 609555. You will be offered a transfer to another workshop of your choice, 100% of delegate rate will be charged, plus a 30% transfer fee (see above for further details). If we (Pyramid Educational Consultants) cancel a workshop due to adverse weather, we will endeavor to inform all attending delegates as soon as possible. You will be given the choice of either a full refund of the course fee or to transfer free of charge to another workshop date/location.

V. Late arrivals/early leavers

If you are late for a course, leave before the end of the course of miss part of a day we reserve the right to withhold issuing your certificate. This is our training policy, as it is felt that you will gain insufficient knowledge or skill in the time remaining. In all such cases, the full course fee remains payable. In order to gain your certificate you must make up the missed hours, to organise this email traininguk@pecs.com An administration fee of £35 applies.

VI. Discounts

5% discount available for bookings on the same workshop of 5 – 9 delegates. 10% discount available for bookings on the same workshop for 10 or more delegates. Bookings are to be made together at the same time. (Up to 20 maximum). Discounts are only applicable to the professional rate. Early Bird Booking Discount – only applicable to online workshop bookings, 10% discount applicable to bookings made more than 112 days prior to workshop date. Discounts are only applicable to the professional rate.  Early Bird booking invoices need to be paid within 30 days of receiving the invoice in order to have the 10% Early Bird Booking Discount applied.

VII. Dietary Requirements

We endeavor to do our best to accommodate your dietary needs, but we are unable to accommodate complex dietary needs. On these occasions we would ask you to provide your own packed lunch.

VIII. Recording and Videotaping

Attendees/Delegates may not record audio or video of any of the PECS training workshops or talks conducted by Pyramid Educational Consultants UK Ltd, as this is a direct infringement of our intellectual property. Attendees/Delegates caught recording maybe asked to leave the training workshop. In these cases no refund of training fees will apply.

IX. Accommodation

Participants are responsible for making their own accommodation arrangements. This is not included in the workshop price.

X. Pyramid Workshop Cancellations

If Pyramid Educational Consultants have to cancel a workshop due to force majeure, a full refund of the delegate rate will be issued.

XI. Replacement PECS Training Certificates

If you require a replacement training certificate, please email traininguk@pecs.com who will email you a copy. Our trainings are reviewed every few years, therefore in order to maintain the quality and integrity of the PECS protocol we are unable to provide a replacement certificate to any person who attended training more than 4 years ago. In which case we would recommend you consider refreshing your training as soon as possible, by attending a Level 1 or Level 2 workshop.
